Born in Windhoek, Namibia

1966-1978
Schooled in Otjiwarongo

1979
Entered the police force in Namibia

1981-1982
Served as a game ranger in Etosha

1983
Joined the National Museum in Bloemfontein as an ornithological assistant

1984
Commenced studies in the Department of Fine Arts at the University of the Free State

1988
Completed practical component of a Fine Arts degree, obtaining a distinction in sculpture

1989
Full time sculptor on a smallholding at Bainsvlei, approximately 10 km outside of Bloemfontein
