Israel Tavhana

Biography

Israel is from the Northern Province, and is a sculptor. His greatest influence is his father, artist Paul Tavhana.

Israel went to Dimbanyika School, and passed Standard 8 in 1997. He has a passion for his art and also enjoys carpentry. He has only been carving since 1994, and wants to pursue his talent further.

Israel was selected as a finalist in the ABSA Atelier Awards for young South African artists 2001, for his work, “Snake”.
